Traveling on to Vicksburg, Mississippi, we will tour the Vicksburg National Military Park and Battlefield where so many lives were laid down for the War Between the States. Natchez, beckons us during this beautiful spring season. Natchez is known for its splendor during the Civil War Era and large array of antelbellum homes. Tonight's treat is a special dinner at Glenfield Plantation - a home that has been in one family for 7 generations.

Frogmore Cotton Plantation will compare work on a 1800's cotton plantation vs. today's modern cotton farms. We then encounter the "city that care forgot"- New Orleans. Absorb the sights and sounds of the famous French Quarter as our home for three nights is the historic Hotel Provincial-an open air courtyard hotel in the French Quarter.

New Orleans City Tour/Mardi Gras World/Free Time in the French Quarter
A city tour of New Orleans by a local expert guide presents the history, landmarks, legends and splendid architecture that made New Orleans famous. Get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into hosting Mardi Gras each year at Mardi Gras World. This evening we discover the fun, flares and flavors of cooking Louisiana style at a New Orleans Cooking School. After we learn the step by step preparation of a Creole/Cajun menu, a full meal is served - so bring your appetite!
Swamp Tour/WWII Museum/Dinner at Court of Two Sisters
We are off to an adventure in the swamplands of Louisiana. See alligators and swamp life up close in the comfort of a pontoon boat, with a native expert guide. A visit to the World War II Museum is a must. Dedicated in 2000 as the National D-Day Museum, it has now been designated by Congress as the country's official World War II Museum. After our return to our hotel, we are off for dinner to The Court of Two Sisters.
Shrimp Boat Tour/Shrimp Boil/Beauvoir Mansion
Experience a shrimp boat as we head into the Gulf for a lesson on shrimping. Taste a southern tradition with a shrimp boil for lunch. Enjoy a tour of Beauvoir Mansion, the southern home of Jefferson Davis, the south's president during the Civil War. Enjoy our beachfront hotel this evening.

Elvis Presley Birth Home
Tupelo is in our path and a stop at the humble beginnings of Elvis Presley's birth home, church and museum. A dinner with "Elvis" will round out the evening.

Since we are in "Elvis Country" we also visit Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley. This one of a kind experience will take you on Elvis's fascinating journey to superstardom through exciting videos, displays of authentic clothing, artifacts, personal momentos and amazing showcase of Elvis's gold and platinum awards and more.

After breakfast, we begin our journey home. On our way we take a few minutes at Warm Springs Ranch, home of the Budweiser Clydesdales. What a great spring getaway we have had! We return home today having had a wonderful time exploring the beauty of the Deep South.

Final Documents: Approximately two weeks prior to your departure date, you will receive your final documents. Departure times, a hotel list, detailed tour itinerary6, medical form and luggage tags will be included.
Changes in Itinerary: The order of events and hotels scheduled in your tour are subject to change. Every effort will be made to preserve the original quality of attractions and hotels when circumstances necessitate a substitution.
Price Changes/Fuel Surcharge: Tour prices are effective as of Sept. 15, 2017. Allied will do everything possible to avoid price changes. However, if significant changes in fuel prices, taxes, currency exchange rates, etc. occur, these will be passed on to passengers, and listed on your final invoice. Every effort will be made to avoid any additional surcharges.
Baggage Allowance: Portage for one suitcase (per person) is included in the tour price. Due to limited motor coach capacity, your single bag should have dimensions not exceeding 30" x 21" x 11" and weigh no more than 50 lbs. Small carry-on bags are allowed and are your responsibility. Most airlines assess a baggage fee. This fee is not included in the tour price and is paid for at airport check-in.
Special Needs Travelers needing special assistance must notify Allied Tours at the time of booking. Persons requiring assistance must be accompanied by a companion who can help with these special needs as tour directors and drivers have obligations to the whole group. See your current tour book for details of customer responsibility.
Church & Faith We encourage you to attend the church of your choice while on tours if conditions allow. Unfortunately, we are unable to make any special provisions or transportation to attend church. Many of our tour directors share "Thoughts of the Day" verses of inspiration, or a short prayer to start the day.
