To Minneapolis/Plymouth Playhouse

We are off to Minneapolis today! Your tour director will have a festive and fun atmosphere on your three day getaway. This evening we enjoy a turkey dinner with all the fixin's followed by "A Looney Lutheran's in Hold the Lutefisk" ** at the Plymouth Playhouse. Celebrate the sweet times of the past with these nostalgic songs and stories. Share your Christmas memories of growing up inthe Midwest with this brand new Christmas special that is guaranteed to give you a dose of holiday cheer.

NOTE: We are very sorry to announce that The Plymouth Playhouse has cancelled its production of "A Midwest Country Christmas" due to unforeseen circumstances. This show is being replaced by a hilarious Looney Lutherans show entitled "A Looney Lutherans' Christmas". We believe, in the tradition of the Church Basement Ladies productions, you will have a wonderful experience at the Playhouse with this hysterically funny production.

Day two

Skyrock Farm/American Swedish Institute/Shopping or Show Option

We begin our day with a visit to Skyrock Farm where we are transported to the social scene of the 1800's. See a historic carousel along with a collection of dance and fair organs that is world renownedfor the beautiful artwork and magical musical sound. Plus learn how they train and show jumping and hunting horses, as well as teach English riding, as we see a demontration in their heated arena. A home cooked lunch is included at the farm! Minneapolis is known for its Scandinavian Cultures from the many immigrants that came to the area. We visit the American Swedish Institute and learn about their Christmas traditions as we go thru Nordic Holiday Rooms at the Turnblad Mansion. We return to the hotel around 4 pm and you will have the choice of enjoying the shops, attractions and restaurants at the Mall of America OR you may choose to go to the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre for the production of "Sister Act". (Chanhassen option at additional cost of $89.00 per person.) This musical comedy tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her away in the last place anyone would expect - a convent! Set around the Christmas holidays, Deloris helps her fellow sisters fine their voices as she also rediscovers her own in a sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship. Please advise reservationist of your choice at time of booking.
