The Panama Canal
In 1967, Princess was the first cruise line to sail the Panama Canal, and today, they are the #1 cruise line sailing to this incredible destination. Sail from Los Angeles, south along the Pacific, thru the Panama Canal and back to Fort Lauderdale via the Caribbean. Learn about this historic 48-mile waterway in Panama that connects the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean.
Our winter escape begins with transfers to Omaha and flight to Los Angeles.
Overnight Los Angeles, CA
Board the Emerald Princess
After a leisurely morning, we transfer to the port to board the beautiful Emerald Princess. The attentive service from the friendly Princess staff will make you feel right at home.
Days 3 & 4
Enjoy two days at sea where you can de-stress. Explore the ship's swimming pool, boutiques and spas. You will want to make sure you have your optional shore excursions booked for our upcoming ports of call.
(Shore excursions at additional cost.)
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
The beautiful climate and palm lined beaches of Puerto Vallarta will call you ashore. Visit the historic Church of the Lady of Guadalupe. Swim with the dolphins. There are lots of fun optional excursions!
Enjoy a day at sea to relax or enjoy the activities on board such as dance lessons, culinary demonstrations, wine tasting classes or maybe you’d like a massage or facial at the Lotus spa.
Huatulco is a tropical Eden with crystalline waters, coral reefs and uncrowded beaches. Its stunning bay is famed for its “sleeping man” rock formation and “blowhole.” Enjoy a snorkeling excursion, culinary tour, or cultural exploration.
Once again, the choices are many. Take in an Art Auction. Hit the Sports Court. Enjoy afternoon tea. Join in a game of bridge. Or relax with a good book by the pool.
San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua
(Tender to port) Nicaragua has stunning landscapes, vast cultural treasures and an intriguing history. From strolling the cobblestone streets of colonial Granada on Lake Nicaragua to exploring one of the many volcanoes, this port has something for even the most seasoned traveler.
Puntarenas, Costa Rica
Hailed as the Switzerland of the Americas, Costa Rica lies between two oceans and two continents. Optional excursions offer the chance to see wildlife, ride a train, enjoy a river cruise, view tropical gardens, explore the rainforest via aerial tram, visit the capital of San Jose and much more!
Learn about the Panama Canal at an onboard lecture or film presentation.
Fuerte Amador, Panama (for Panama City)
(Tender to port) This port is the gateway to our transit of the Panama Canal. From here you can take excursions to tour “Colonial Panama,” take a rail excursion along the canal, or meet the Embera Indians.
Panama Canal Transit/Colon, Panama
Today enter the impressive Panama Canal thru the Mira Flores Locks. Our early morning adventure takes us thru the new locks!
Steeped in history, this interesting city shows the influences of the Spanish Empire on the New World. Excursions offer visits to the “Old City,” San Pedro Claver Church, Castillo de San Felipe Fortress or canoe the mangrove tunnels and visit the National Aviary.
Days 15 & 16
Share stories with fellow passengers of the interesting excursions you enjoyed in Panama and the highlights of your transit thru this man-made wonder.

Changes in Tour Price: Tour prices in this publication are effective as of April 15, 2019 and subject to fluctuation due to the U.S dollar exchange rates and energy rates. Our best effort has been made to publish this information as accurately as possible. The right is reserved to change tour rates as deemed necessary by current currency and fuel price conditions. Due to the volatility of airfares and flight schedules, tour utilizing air transportation are subject to change both in price and routing.
Changes in Itinerary: The order of events and hotels scheduled in your tour are subject to change. Every effort will be made to preserve the original quality of attractions and hotels when circumstances necessitate a substitution.
Baggage Allowance: Portage for one suitcase (per person) is included in the tour price. Due to limited motor coach capacity, your single bag should have dimensions not exceeding 30" x 21" x 11" and weigh no more than 50 lbs. Small carry-on bags are allowed and are your responsibility. Most airlines assess a baggage fee. This fee is not included in the tour price and is paid for at airport check-in.
Church and Faith: We encourage you to attend the church of your choice while on tours if conditions allow. Unfortunately, we are unable to make any special provisions or transportation to attend church. Many tour directors share "Thoughts of the Day" verses of inspiration, or a short prayer to start the day.
Special Needs: Travelers needing special assistance must notify Allied Tours at the time of booking. Persons requiring assistance must be accompanied by a companion who can help with these special needs as tour directors and drivers have obligations to the whole group.
