One Day Tour

We depart early morning and enjoy the journey to Grand Island. Your tour director will have some refreshments along the way.

In 2019, the Nebraska State Fair will have been located in Grand Island for ten years. Since the move to Grand Island, the fair has continued to grow. In 2011, the East Entertainment Area was created. In 2012, the Aircare Sky Tram was installed which stretches four football fields from the Expo Center to the Cattle Barn. In 2013, the fair built the Nebraska Building to house the administrative offices.
Mid morning finds us at the State Fairgrounds with endless option on things to see and do. Take in a Duck and Pig Ride, ride the Aircare Sky Tram (additional), visit the Quilt Display, 4H/FFA Exhibits, Grow Nebraska General Store, the Recycled Garden Display, visit the Exhibition Building and so much more.

Included will be reserved seating tickets to the 11 a.m. "longest running music show in Las Vegas History". The Drifters, Cornell Gunter's Coasters and The Platters. Three rock and roll hall of fame legends on the same stage for one concert only. With more than 94 charted records and 45 top 10 hits combined, you'll hear favorites like Under the Boardwalk, Stand By Me, On Broadway, This Magic Moment, Up on the Roof, Save the Last Dance for me, Yakety Yak, Charlie Brown, Poison Ivy, Only you, The Great Pretender, Magic Touch, Smoke Gets In Your Eyes and many more.
About the Drifters - There's a very good reason that Rolling Stone magazine, in their iconic issue "500 Greatest Rock and Roll Performers" said of the Drifters "No group has done it this well for this long-no one, not even the Rolling Stones." That's quite an accolade to live up to but hopefully, on their latest tour, the Drifters will once again prove Rolling Stone to be the sage of rock and roll.

About The Cornell Gunter Coasters - This year marks their 40th anniversary. The Coasters were one of the few artists in rock history to successfully straddle the line between music and comedy. Their undeniably funny lyrics and onstage antics might have suggested a simple troupe of clowns, but Coasters records were no mere novelties - their material, supplied by the legendary team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, was too witty, their arrangements too well-crafted, and the group itself too musically proficient. That engaging and infectious combination made them one of the most popular early R & B/rock & roll acts, as well as one of the most consistently entertaining doo wop/vocal groups of all time.

About the Platters - With classics such as the "The Great Pretender," "Only you," and their rendition of "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," the Platters were one of the preeminent doo-wop groups of the rock and roll era. Under the guildance of manager and producer Buck Ram, the Platters churned out hit after hit during the 1950's, bridging the gap between more traditional vocal-group stylings and the popular R & B grooves of the early 50's. Their sound was unique, marked by lead singer Tony William's powerful vocals and the feminine touch of singer Zola Taylor.
