Day 1

Depart Omaha for flight to Iceland

Today you will be transferred from your "Allied" departure city to Omaha for your overnight flight to Keflavik, Iceland

Day 2

Keflavik, Iceland

Iceland is full of surprises -- for one, it isn't covered in ice! It's a stunning mix of green plains, wild volcanic scenery, beautiful coasts and lakes, spouting geysers, hot springs, mud pools and sophisticated cities. topped off by clean, fresh air, you'll find yourself in a trance surrounded by unique natural beauty throughout the country. Upon arrival, you'll be met by a representative of Mayflower Cruises & Torus and transferred to your hotel in the town of Hveragerdi or Selfoss. Rooms will be available
for check-in upon arrival. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel.

Day 3

Iceland's South Shore

After breakfast, your adventure to the South Shore begins with a journey through small villages and farmlands to the majestic mountains with views including Mt. Hekla, the most active volcano in Ieland, and the towering ice-capped strato volcano Eyjafjallajokull, which last erupted in 2010. Iceland is also famous for its waterfalls and you'll see two of the most magnificent -- the Seljalandsfoss which tumbles over high rock escarpments allowing you to walk behind the waterfall, and Skogafoss. Learn about the preservation of the Southern Iceland cultural heritage on the visit to Skogar Folk Museum. Exploration continues to Dyrholaey, a magnificent rocky headland with sheer cliffs, en route to the village of Vik. Head to the seashore, flanked by steep bird cliffs rising high above the beautiful black sand beach. In the sea, just outside of Vik, see the Reynisdrangar Rocks which stand 216 feet above sea level at their highest points.

Day 4

Reykjanes Peninsula / Blue Lagoon

This morning, head for the rough tracks of Reykjanes, one of the most active volcanic areas in Iceland. Visit the geothermal area of Krysuvik and Lake Kleifarvatn with its hot springs and solfatares. The moonlike surroundings of the lake never fail to leave a strong impression on visitors!
A remarkable life enriching experience is a visit to the Blue Lagoon - a lake of warm, mineral-rich geothermal water, internationally renowned for its healing prowess. Located in the middle of a lava field in the pure and beautiful Icelandic wilderness, water is heated by underground volcanic activity at a depth of 5,400 feet and is pumped to the surface to form this man-made wonder. The Blue Lagoon is known for its special properties and its beneficial effect on the skin. Visitors from all over the world come here in search of health, relaxation and an exotic experience. You'll have an opportunity to soak in the pleasantly warm mineral-rich water.

Day 5

Reykjavik

Reykjavik, Iceland's capital city of 100,000 people, is unique in many ways. This capital is a moder city with a variety of restaurants, museusm, galleries and theaters. Heated entirely by geothermal water, it is home to the "smoking bay", so named for the rising steam that greeted the city's Viking founder, Angolfr Arnarssan, as he sailed into the bay here in 874 AD. The city center is the heart of Reykjavik and home to many charming historical buildings of stone and timer contrasting with imaginative modern architecture. It has the features of a modern society complemented by a close connection to natural wonders right on the city's doorstep. Hot springs, glacier, lava field, midnight sun, waterfalls, northern lights, volcanoes and bizarre landscapes--the city has them all!
On the included panoramic city tour of the world's most northerly captial, see the old town center, Parliament, cathedral, harbor, National Museum, "Pearl" and Hofoi House (site of the Iceland summit of 1986), and Hallfrimskirkja Church whose steeple is a landmark of the city.
Enjoy free time for lunch on your own and shopping, then prepart to "take off" as you visit Fly Over Iceland. During this virtual flight, experience waterfalls, geysers, scenic landscapes, and the spectacular natural wonders of Iceland like never before. With the special effects of motion, wind, sound and scents, the unique "flying" experience is sure to be a highlight of your day!

Day 6

The Golden Circle

On the full-day tour of the Golden Circle, enjoy scenic drives along with the geological and historic sites of the island. Your excursion inclus a drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Thingvellir National Park. A remarkable geological site, it is one of the few spots in the world where the Mid-Atlantic Ridge is seen above water. The amazing canyon that runs throught the park is a meeting point of two of the earth's tectonic plates. The park is situated by Lake Thingvallavatn, the largest lake on the island. The park is also the most historic site on the island as the world's oldest democratic parliament was founded her in 930 AD.
You'll see outstanding natural wonders when you visit Geysir, Iceland's most famous area for thermal activity. View "Strokkur", one of the most active geysers, and the "Bullfoss" (Golden Waterfall, Iceland's most famous waterfall. Before returning to the hotel, a visit to a local farm gives you the chance to meet some of the native Icelandic horses, as well as learn about the growing of healthy tomatoes using green energy, pure water and organic pest controls. This evening, join your travel companions for the farewell dinner.

Depart for return to USA

Follwoing brekafast, transfer to Keflavik Airport and bid a fond farewell to amazing Iceland, as you return home with memorable life enriching experiences to cherish.

ACTIVITY LEVEL 4:  Requires above-average physical activity.  You should be able to walk distances and be physically fit to fully enjoy the tour.  Walking surfaces may be uneven on some tours, and there may be occasional early morning or evening activities.

3. Send your deposit. The deposit is required within seven days of making your reservation. Please see additional information for deposit amounts. You will receive a confirmation of your deposit once your payment is received.

Exclusions:  Mayflower Cruises & Tours reserves the right to alter its refund and cancellation policy when a substantial amount of cancellation or postponement of travel is  attributable to conditions resulting from an act of God, natural or man-made disaster, fire, government action, civil disorder, war, hostilities between nations, or unabailability of transporatation through no faul of Mayflower Cruises & Tours. 

 

TRAVEL PROTECTION PLAN (TPP): (Optional)

This nonrefndable fee waives all cancellation fees when we are notified of cancelltion one day before the tour departs.  If you must leave the tour early due to personal illness, illness or death of a member of your immediate family, TPP guarantees full refund for any unused services after the departure of the tour.  Other benefits include medical expenses for illness and injury, emergency transportation, 24 hour hot line, and loss or stolen baggage assistance.  Return air transportation is included ONLY if your air tickets were provided by Mayflower Cruises & Tours.  If you purchase the optional Travelers Protection Plan (TPP), you will be refunded all payments, including deposit amount, less the TPP premium amount. 

 

 

DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED:  

 

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL --

A valid U.S. passport book that does not expire within six (6) months from the date of your return is required for most international tours. Some countries require more months of validity. Passport and VISA acquisition costs are the responsibility of the traveler. Countries may deny entry due to past criminal or misdemeanor offenses. With the arrival of ETIAS expected in 2024, certain countries may require an ETIAS waiver to travel to Europe. If this is a requirement for your tour, we will provide you with the enrollment information.  

 

FINAL DOCUMENTS 

Travel documents will be sent approximately two weeks before departure, provided full payment has been received. The documents will include a detailed itinerary, departure times and locations, hotel lists, medical forms, luggage tags, and other helpful information. 

 

CHANGES IN TOUR PRICE  

Tour prices in this publication are effective as of October 1, 2023, and are subject to fluctuation due to the U.S. dollar exchange rates and energy rates. Our best effort has been made to publish this information as accurately as possible. The right is reserved to change tour rates as deemed necessary by current currency, fuel price fluctuations, taxes, typographical errors, or other reasons, etc. Due to the volatility of airfares and flight schedules, tours utilizing air transportation are subject to change both in price and routing. Submitting your deposit is an acknowledgment of your agreement to these terms. 

 

CHANGES IN ITINERARY  

The order of events and hotels scheduled on your tour are subject to change. Every effort will be made to preserve the original quality of attractions and hotels when circumstances necessitate a substitution. 

 

BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE  

Portage for one suitcase (per person) is included in the tour price. Due to limited motorcoach capacity, your single bag should have dimensions not exceeding 30” x 21” x 11” and weigh no more than 50 lbs. Small carry-on bags are allowed and are your responsibility. Most airlines assess a baggage fee. This fee is not included in the tour price and is paid for at airport check-in. *Baggage handling included at hotels where available 

 

INSPIRATION & FAITH  

Due to tour schedules, we are unable to make any special provisions for worship services. Many tour directors share a “Thought for the Day,” verses of inspiration, or a short prayer to start the day. 

 

TRAVELER CONDUCT & SPECIAL NEEDS  

Tours are fun, but the enjoyment of the tour is based on everyone being friendly and cooperative. Allied Tour reserves the right to accept or decline any passenger on any tour if Allied Tour determines a passenger would be detrimental to the tour. Once a tour departs, any passenger disruptive to the group may be required to leave the tour. Expenses to return home would be the responsibility of the passenger. No refunds will be issued for unused portions of the tour.  

  

Please notify us of any special needs at the time of reservation. We will make all reasonable efforts to assist with your travel arrangements. However, it is strongly recommended that a traveling companion come along to help with any special needs of anyone with a disability. Allied tour directors have responsibilities for the entire group and can’t provide one-on-one care. This includes boarding motorcoaches, airplanes, cruise ships, etc., traversing hotels, restaurants, attractions, other personal needs, etc. Contact Allied if you have any questions.  

 

TRAVELER RESPONSIBILITIES, TERMS & CONDITIONS 

Allied Tours, Inc. (AT) acts only as an agent for suppliers. AT is not responsible for acts or omissions of the suppliers or their failure to provide services or adhere to their schedules & assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity, & can accept no liability for losses or personal injury or property damage, or additional expenses due to delay or changes in the bus or other services, sickness, weather, strikes, war, quarantine, terrorism, or other causes. All such losses or expenses will have to be borne by the passenger. The right is reserved to accept or withdraw any tour if circumstances require it. AT reserves the right to make any changes for the benefit of the tour and/or tour members, including canceling the tour if necessary. All rates are subject to change & are based on current tariffs available & current exchange rates as of October 1, 2023. AT or property owners are not liable for any loss/damage to vehicles parked at departure locations. All baggage is at the owner’s risk. The purchase of baggage & travel insurance covering cancellation, interruption, medical, baggage, etc., is recommended. The issuance and acceptance of tickets/vouchers or the payment of the required deposit or any partial or full payment for reservations on these trips shall be deemed to be consent to these conditions. No refund or unused portions of the tour can be made unless agreed to prior to the departure of the tour. The usual contract in use by the airlines and other transportation companies, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the purchaser of the tour and/or the passenger. The services of any ARC and/or IATAN carrier may be used on this program. AT has no special knowledge regarding the financial condition of the suppliers or unsafe conditions or climate of locations to which you may travel. You assume full responsibility for checking & verifying any & all passport, visa, vaccination, or other entry requirements of your destination(s) & all conditions regarding health, safety, security, political stability, and labor or civil unrest at such destination(s). Passengers hereby release AT from all claims arising out of any problem covered in these paragraphs & agree that the courts In Madison Co., NE will be the exclusive jurisdiction for all claims brought by you or AT. Travelers may be photographed for the promotional purposes of AT.
