Join your Allied friends on a delightful one day tour adventure to Weston, MO. Weston is nestled in the beautiful hill country high above the Missouri River. Untouched by the course of modern Urban America, 1600 residents still enjoy the romantic memories and the family traditions embedded in the culture of this sleepy community by the early settlers. Those who have worked diligently to perserve the unique nature of Historic Weston, invite us to explore and enjoy this unspoiled treasure, a Diverse mix of historic architecture that speaks a small town life that has nearly evaporated. Within the 22 block Historic District more than 100 preserved structures span 100 years from the early pre-civil war 1840's in the wartime years fo the 1940's.
Our local tour guide will entertain and inform us (on a tour of the town) with talks of early civil war vignettes that bring history alive. The descendants of Daniel Boone, Robert E. Lee and Benjamin Holladay, and the Stagecoach King inhavit many Weston stories. We will visit an occupied Antebellum Home.
Our Tour Guide will share two floors of exhibits at the Weston Historical Museum. Hear many fascinating stories of Weston's past.
Weston has been voted the Best Day Trip by Ingram's Magazine for 13 consecutive years. They offer some of the best and most unique shops in the Midwest. Weston is a shopper's delight. Originally a river town that equipped adventurers for their trips west, Weston has retained the physical ambience of its roots. You can stand on Main Street and easily imagine the busy commerce of steamboats moored on the river and wagon train master outfitting for their dangerous journey west.
There will be free time to shop on main street or to visit the Silk Art Museum or the Weston Tabacco Co.
Delicious noon lunch will be at the Tim Kitchen. You will choose from one of these entrees when you make your reservation. Beef Brisket Sandwich with coleslaw or fries, plus drink, or a Cajun Chicken Sandwich with coleslaw or fries, plus drink.
We end our day with a stop at the Historic Western Apple Orchard. Fresh apple pie, ice cream and coffee will be served. Homemade apple pies and fresh apples will be available to purchase.
Full payment is required with your reservation.
