Day 4

Tybee Island Light Station/Dolphin Cruise/Lady and Sons Dinner

Continue to make your way to Savannah today. Arrive at Tybee Island and enjoy time on the beach, stroll the pier, and soak in the Southern coastal spring weather. Visit the Tybee Island Light Station that has been guiding mariner's safe entrance into the Savannah River for over 270 years. The Tybee Island Light Station is one of America's most intact, having all of its historic support buildings on its five-acre site. This afternoon take a dolphin cruise to see how these playful sea creatures interact with humans. This evening get ready for a treat when you dine at Paula Dean's Lady and Sons restaurant in the heart of the Historic District.

Savannah City Tour/Charleston Tea Plantation

Your local expert guide will take you on a historical Savannah tour where you will learn the rich history of the Southern Belle community. And "oh those beautiful Squares". Take time on River Street to enjoy the many shops and restaurants. This afternoon visit the Charleston Tea Plantation; home to the American Classic Tea, the only tea grown in America. Tour the grounds, take a historical trolley tour, and visit the working tea factory. Join your new travel friends for dinner at a local Charleston restaurant.

Charleston City Tour/Drayton Hall/Middleton Garden Walk

Your local expert guide will be with you this morning to tour charming Charleston and its many historic sites including Rainbow Row, The Citadel and more. This afternoon tour Drayton Hall. This plantation home is in near-original condition as it was when the Drayton family lived in it in the mid 1700s. Then, get your camera ready for the Middleton Place garden walk, America's oldest landscaped gardens.

Biltmore Estate

Depart Charleston with fond memories of your visit to the Deep South. Arriving at America's largest residence-the Biltmore Estate, spend the afternoon exploring the incredible mansion and gardens.

Kentucky Horse Park

Early this afternoon stop at Kentucky Horse Park, where everything is "all about the horse." See the Hall of Champions - an elite group of champion horses that reside at the park and more.

Kentucky Derby Museum

This morning your visit comes full circle when you visit the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs. You'll see the resident thoroughbred and miniature horse, the movie-"The Greatest Race", the Winner's Circle, and much more. Late this afternoon check into your hotel before the farewell dinner with your fellow travel mates.

It's time to head home after recalling the many memories with the two "Grand Dames" of the South - Savannah and Charleston.

Final Documents:  Approximately two weeks prior to your departure date, you will receive your final documents.  Departure times, a hotel list, detailed tour itinerary, medical form and luggage tags will be included.

Baggage Allowance Portage for one suitcase (per person) is included in the tour price. Due to limited motor coach capacity, your single bag should have dimensions not exceeding 30" x 21" x 11" and weigh no more than 50 lbs. Small carry-on bags are allowed and are your responsibility.
