An exciting adventure awaits you when you transfer to Kansas City to board Amtrak's Southwest Chief for a journey through the heart of the Southwest. Sleep in your own private compartment as you make your way across the Plains.

Amtrak Across Southern CO/Northern New Mexico/Arrive Williams, AZ

It's daylight when you arrive in eastern Colorado. Wake up to enjoy breakfast on the train in the Diner, just like the old days. Then sit back and relax as the beautiful scenery of southern Colorado and the high desert of northern New Mexico pass right by your private window in your compartment. Head back to the Lounge Car for a floor to ceiling view of the incredible scenery that unfolds. You'll enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in the diner during your day on the rails. Disembark at Williams, AZ, mid-evening and transfer to the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel. Settle in for a well-deserved rest before an exciting day tomorrow.

Grand Canyon Railway Excursion in the Dome Car/Scenic Rim Tour

Get ready for an unforgettable journey through scenic Grand Canyon country when you board the Grand Canyon Railway. As an exclusive, travel aboard a nostalgic Steamliner-era dome car and watch as the scenery changes from high desert to prairie to pine. It's a view that's ever changing. There's nothing like a trip on the Grand Canyon Railway. Arrive at the Grand Canyon at approximately noon and take a scenic rim tour with spectacular views of the canyon. It's what you came to see and you'll have plenty of time to soak in its grandeur. Your accommodations are at the Maswik Lodge in the Grand Canyon National Park Village

Day at Leisure/Grand Canyon Railway back to Williams

Wake up at your leisure as you'll have most of the day to explore the Grand Canyon at your pace. See everything that you want to see at one of the world's most colossal Canyons. Take in a Ranger talk at the Visitor's Center, discover Grand Canyon Village, and much more. It's so large it defies description, and we'll give you as much time as you need to see it all. Mid-afternoon board the Grand Canyon Railway for the trip back to Williams. The vintage ambiance and music will have you reminiscing about the past while you soak up the present. Arrive in Williams, check in, and enjoy dinner at the beaufiful Grand Canyon Railway Hotel.

Day 5 Below the Rim Jeep Tour

Today you'll have a "below the rim experience" that will take you to the bottom of the Grand Canyon for a spectacular look at the flora and fauna that make up this wonder of Mother Nature. You saw it from the rim, now you'll see it from below. Arrive back in Williams in time for one final dinner at the beautiful Grand Canyon Railway Hotel.

Day 6 Travel Home

Transfer to the Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix for your flight home, recalling the many memories of your Grand Canyon trip.

Final payment is due 45-90 days prior to departure, or as stated on your deposit statement. You may remit by personal check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.

  • 95 Days or More - No Fee

  • 94 to 50 Days - 25% of the Tour Cost 

  • 49 to 21 Days - 50% of the Tour Cost 

  • 20 Days or less to departure - No Refund

Changes in Itinerary The order of events and hotels scheduled in your tour are subject to change. Every effort will be made to preserve the original quality of attractions and hotels when circumstances necessitate a substitution. 

 

Price Changes/Fuel Surcharge Tour prices in this publication are effective as of September 15, 2016 and subject to fluctuation due to the U.S  dollar exchange rates and energy rates. Our best effort has been made to publish this information as accurately as possible.  The right is reserved to change tour rates as deemed necessary by current currency and fuel price conditions. Due to the volatility of airfares and flight schedules, tour utilizing air transportation are subject to change both in price and routing.     

 

Baggage Allowance Portage for one suitcase (per person) is included in the tour price. Due to limited motor coach capacity, your single bag should have dimensions not exceeding 30" x 21" x 11" and weigh no more than 50 lbs. Small carry-on bags are allowed and are your responsibility. Most airlines assess a baggage fee. This fee is not included in the tour price and is paid for at airport check-in. 

 

Special Needs Travelers needing special assistance must notify Allied Tours at the time of booking. Persons requiring assistance must be accompanied by a companion who can help with these special needs as tour directors and drivers have obligations to the whole group. See your current tour book for details of customer responsibility.

 

Church & Faith We encourage you to attend the church of your choice while on tours if conditions allow. Unfortunately, we are unable to make any special provisions or transportation to attend church. Many of our tour directors share "Thoughts of the Day" verses of inspiration, or a short prayer to start the day.
