This morning board Amtrak for your first train excursion through the Rockies. Here witness some of the most spectacular scenery found anywhere in the United States. The Aspens will serenade you with their golden glow as they quake in the breeze.

Million Dollar Highway/Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad

Journey up the Million Dollar Highway to Silverton with spectacular Rocky Mountain scenery at every turn and with the brilliant aspens that light up the mountainsides. Arrive at Silverton; its name coming from miners shouting "we got silver by the ton"! All aboooard! The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad will take you on a journey down the scenic "River of Lost Souls Gorge" where the remote wilderness defies description. You've always heard about it, now experience it.

Scenic Travel Day

Travel across southern Colorado through the beautiful San Juan Mountains to nature's wonder - the Royal Gorge.

Royal Gorge Route Railroad/ Garden of Gods/U.S. Olympic Complex

This morning, it's "all aboard" the Royal Gorge Route Railroad for a thrilling ride through Royal Gorge. This historic route offers scenery unlike any other train excursion on your tour. It is awesome! Also behold the natural beauty of the 1367-acre Garden of the Gods. Balanced Rock is the most famous of these red sandstone formations at the base of Pike's Peak. The 37-acre U.S. Olympic Complex is the last stop this afternoon. This is the training center and headquarters for the U.S. Olympic team.

Pike's Peak Cog Railroad/Old Colorado City/Air Force Academy

It's "Pike's Peak or Bust" as you board the highest cog railway for a journey to the top of Pike's Peak. You'll have a breathtaking panoramic view of the valley below. This afternoon take time to stroll Old Colorado City with a special stop to view Michael Garman's "Magic Town." You have to see it to believe it! This afternoon tour the Air Force Academy and see the Cadet Chapel (if available).

Travel Home

It's time to head home from this spectacular "Colorado Rails and Trails" tour, but the chug of the steam engine and the echo of its whistle will live on in your memory forever.

Deposit: To confirm your reservation, a $300 per person deposit is required within 7 days after you make your reservation. Final payments are due 45-60 days prior to departure. Your final payment date is listed on your deposit statement.

 

Final Payment Due 65 days prior to departure, or as stated on your deposit statement. You may remit by personal check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.

 

Cancellation Information: Cancellation notices must be given to Allied Tour & Travel as soon as possible.

Changes in Tour Price Tour prices in this publication are effective as of September 15, 2015 and subject to fluctuation due to the U.S dollar exchange rates and energy rates. Our best effort has been made to publish this information as accurately as possible. The right is reserved to change tour rates as deemed necessary by current currency and fuel price conditions. Due to the volatility of airfares and flight schedules, tour utilizing air transportation are subject to change both in price and routing.

 

Changes in Itinerary The order of events and hotels scheduled in your tour are subject to change. Every effort will be made to preserve the original quality of attractions and hotels when circumstances necessitate a substitution. 

 

Baggage Allowance Portage for one suitcase (per person) is included in the tour price. Due to limited motor coach capacity, your single bag should have dimensions not exceeding 30" x 21" x 11" and weigh no more than 50 lbs. Small carry-on bags are allowed and are your responsibility. Most airlines assess a baggage fee. This fee is not included in the tour price and is paid for at airport check-in. 

 

Special Needs Travelers needing special assistance must notify Allied Tours at the time of booking. Persons requiring assistance must be accompanied by a companion who can help with these special needs as tour directors and drivers have obligations to the whole group. See your current tour book for details of costumer responsibility.

 

Church and Faith We encourage you to attend the church of your choice while on tours if conditions allow. Unfortunately, we are unable to make any special provisions or transportation to attend church. Many tour directors share "Thoughts of the Day" verses of inspiration, or a short prayer to start the day.

You assume full responsibility for checking and verifying any and all passport, visa, vaccination, or other entry requirements of your destination(s), and all conditions regarding health, safety, security, political stability, and labor or civil unrest at such destination(s). Passengers hereby release AT from all claims arising out of any problem covered in these paragraphs and agree that the courts in Madison Co., NE will be the exclusive jurisdiction for all claims brought by you or AT.
