Day 1

It's a holiday tradition to visit Kansas City at Christmas for their lights, shows, and shops!

Traveling to Kansas City today, we take a break in St. Joe for a lunch stop. Midafternoon finds us at Strawberry Hill Povitica Bakery. Here we watch artisan bakers explain the process of creating one of the most luscious desserts around - Potvitica! With over 100 feet of glass walls, you'll see how dough transforms to delicious! Of course, we'll also enjoy coffee & samples. We check in at the Drury Inn Overland Park late afternoon. Enjoy their light dinner. This evening finds us at the United Methodist Resurrection Church. The church is home to a gorgeous stained glass window that is the length of a football field! The " Christmas at Ressurection" program will feature over 300 people as they present the story of Christ's birth thru singing, dance and drama. We'll also get to see the spectacular lights at Longview Park. You'll be amazed as we drive thru the park which features over 300,000 lights amongst beautiful animated Christmas displays.

Day 2

Today begins at the National Museum of Toys & Miniatures which has over 72,000 items. Their exhibits will take you back to days gone by and the toys of your childhood. Plus enjoy a special exhibit "Playing for Keeps: The VFW Marble Tournaments, 1947-1962". Next, visit the World War I National Museum & Memorial, America's only museum dedicated to sharing the stories of the Great War through the eyes of those who lived it. This award-winning museum offers a global perspective of "The War to End All Wars," and includes first-hand accounts from the battlefield & home front alike. We'll end our day at the ever popular New Theatre Restaurant for a delicious dinner and the performance "Shear Madness." This unique comedy-whodunit takes place today in the "Shear Madness" Hairstyling salon and is chuck full of up-to-the-minute spontaneous humor. During the course of the action, a murder is committed, and the audience gets to spot the clues, question the suspects, and solve the funniest mystery in the annals of crime. It will be a fun-filled interactive evening that will leave you chuckling all evening! We will top off the night with a drive through the famous Country Club Plaza lights!

Day 3

It's time to head for home but not without one last stop at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. A local docent will take us on a tour of this beautiful, modern cathedral and (pending confirmation) we hope to take a look at their special Nativities Display which features all sizes from several countries around the world.
